Shelf 3 - KVM & SwitchI needed some place in the middle section height wise of the shelf to connect all the computers to the KVM switch. This seemed like a good place for it, and it worked out nicely. With the spare room - I also put the gigabit ethernet switch on this shelf. Both are free floating on this shelf. This free floating ended up becoming a problem. After it was all powered up and running, I was moving the rack (nice to have wheels). As it was moving, it arched the KVM power module onto the metal screw holding the shelf in place. After a panic moment of thinking I toasted the enter rack, I realized:
