Installed Software


For those intestered in the softer side of things, here is a brief overview of the installed software and configuration.
  • PC 1 - Shelf 1 - Old Windows
    • Gateway is my Smoothwall IP
    • Dynamic IP Assigned
    • DNS Server set to Gentoo IP
    • Backup DNS Server set to my ISP's DNS server
  • PC 2 - Shelf 2 - Debian
    • Gateway is my Smoothwall IP
    • Dynamic IP Assigned
    • DNS Server set to Gentoo IP
    • Backup DNS Server set to my ISP's DNS server
  • PC 3 - Shelf 4 - Smoothwall
    • RED interface set to work with ISP
    • ORANGE interface set to isolated sub-net. Specific range set
    • GREEN interface set to internal sub-net.
  • PC 4 - Shelf 5 - Gentoo
    • DNS Server
    • DHCP Server
  • PC 5 - Shelf 6 - Windows
    • Gateway is my Smoothwall IP
    • Dynamic IP Assigned
    • DNS Server set to Gentoo IP
    • Backup DNS Server set to my ISP's DNS server
  • PCs 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - Wireless Connected
    • All connected through wireless connections.
    • Wireless receptor goes into Shelf 3's network switch
